Prissy and Baby are currently living outdoors on a block where many cats have been killed by cars. We are looking for fosterers or adopters to get them into a safe environment ASAP and help socialize them to people.
Prissy is a lovely long-haired brown Maine coon with piercing green eyes and a compelling, plaintive meow. Baby is a two-year-old gentleman with a sweet white face and pink nose--a white and dark gray tabby tuxedo. They are fast friends who play, sleep,and hang together. It would be sad to separate them.
It is possible that Prissy was a dumped housecat but we don't know for sure. Baby was definitely born outdoors. Currently living in a very public outdoor colony, these two good-natured sweethearts don't run and hide from passers-by and they follow their feeder and allow him to stroke them while they eat. However, because they've lived outdoors for their entire young lives, Prissy and Baby are still shy of close human interaction, and would need at least a month or two of patient socialization to win their trust and affection. Most cats that are brought in from out of doors use the litter box instinctively, so that
should not be a problem.
Baby is neutered and Prissy is spayed. They are both vaccinated. We will test both cats for FIV/FeLV when they are brought indoors. Baby has previously tested negative.
