Balla was found stray by someone who could not keep her due to personal health issues. Balla's finder states she is not house/paper trained and growls and barks at dogs. The finder also states she tolerates children and strangers. Balla pulls hard on the leash and was sociable toward the handler during the assessment - soft body. She was a bit excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. She engages in play, loose body, wags tail, mouth is open. She was a bit difficult to push out of the food bowl, but had soft body language. Balla showed minimal interest in toys and rawhides, but when approaches the helper dog, body is tense, ears erect, high tail wag.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/17/2013 from NY 11226, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER HOSP.
This dog is located at the Brooklyn Animal Care&Control (2336 Linden Blvd Brooklyn 11208). For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. Also, have the ID# listed at the top of this post handy when inquiring!! This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time!
