Owner can no longer keep the dogs at his residence
RELATIONSHIP
Sasha was given to her previous owner by a friend about 9 years ago. She is about 10 years old.
PEOPLE
Sasha lives with 4 adults and she gets along very well with them. She usually barks at strangers. She does not like children and will show teeth or try to hide from them. She has never bitten anyone, but she has bitten another animal, but not within the past 10 days.
OTHER ANIMALS
Sasha has lived with 2 other dogs, Nena (Age 6) and Leila (Age 4). They all get along very well with each other and they are all bonded.
Sasha doesn't get along with any other animals other than the ones she lives with. Around other dogs, she can be somewhat aggressive and usually barks, growls, or snaps at them. She usually chases cats.
PERSONALITY/HABITS
She has been described as shy, fearful, and independent. She is somewhat active and for exercise, she usually goes for slow walks on leash about four times a day.
She enjoys playing with stuffed and squeaky toys. Her favorite games are tug and wrestling. She isn't bothered if her food bowl is touched while she is eating, she also isn't bother if a treat or a toy is taken away. She doesn't mind being moved off of the furniture. She doesn't like receiving baths or having her nails trimmed, but she does enjoy being brushed. She also doesn't like being restrained. She isn't bothered if you disturb her while she is sleeping. She tends to stay in a favorite spot when you are home.
She eats both dry and canned food, and her preferred brand is Pedigree. Her favorite treats are dog bones. She likes sleeping on a blanket in a corner. She prefers to go potty on the cement.
TRAINING
She has received some training, and she does know "sit" and "come." She walks well on leash, and when she is walked off leash, she stays close to your side. When left alone in the house, she may bark or whine, and when left alone in the house, she is usually well behaved.
MEDICAL
Her previous owner stated that she does have a rash or some sort of skin infection
BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE
During the intake she was very friendly and had a soft body. She only became tense and began to bark when another animal passed by. Also she began to whine and look in the direction that Leila was taken when she couldn't immediately see her.
Owner stated that Sasha has some sort of skin condition or rash and that she has been losing fur.

This dog is located at the Brooklyn Animal Care&Control (2336 Linden Blvd Brooklyn 11208).
