Sterling was very energetic at intake, and appeared to be very eager to greet everyone in the lobby. He had loose and wiggly body language and allowed all handling. During his evaluation Sterling was very active and interested in his surroundings, but was very sociable towards the assessor. He allowed the handler to conduct each handling item without issue, but did become stiff and growled when being pushed out of the food bowl during the food test. He only showed minimal interest in the toy items, and took the rawhide item away with stiff body language. During the dog-dog interaction, Sterling rushed in quickly towards the helper dog with his body stiff, tail high, and his ears forward.

From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet. If you are coming from outside of the immediately area, it is strongly suggest that you first complete an application and email it to adoption @ nycacc.org -This will allow ACC to answer any questions and resolve any potential obstacles before you make the trip.
