A volunteer writes: Sosa caught my eye when I first spotted him, shortly after he had arrived at the Brooklyn ACC as a stray. Eager to meet him, I approached his cage and to my dismay, he hid in the back! I showed him my leash and threw treats to him, each one a bit closer to me and farther from the wall than the last. Still, when it came time to leash him, Sosa would flee! After a few more strikes, Sosa was finally at my side and ready to go - and IMMEDIATELY a wonderful, playful and loving dog emerged. He loves to be pet and will gently prop his paws on you to solicit more lovin' - tail wagging all the while! Sosa keeps his cage clean and goes to the bathroom quickly once outside. He knows "sit" and seems accustomed to walking on a leash. He loves to go out and explore and often busts out a play bow. Sosa even seems interested and friendly with other dogs. I'm happy to report that Sosa's initial apprehension seems to be just a case of being shell-shocked - he's very friendly with everyone he meets and would love to met YOU!

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/08/2014 from NY 11233, owner surrender reason stated was ABANDON.
This dog is located at the Brooklyn Animal Care&Control (2336 Linden Blvd Brooklyn 11208). For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. Also, have the ID# listed at the top of this post handy when inquiring!! This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! If you absolutely cannot get to the shelter, please contact participating rescue groups listed toward the bottom of the link to see if they can assist you:
