A volunteer writes:
Smokey has the silkiest coat I ever caressed in a dog. It matches her gentle soul. Smokey was relinquished into our care as her long time owner could not accommodate a pet anymore. She has been well brought up and is clearly a family dog. Smokey, indeed, is very friendly, is overjoyed to be with a caretaker and is very well mannered. She walks well on the leash, might be housetrained and is civil to all other dogs met on the way. She sits and stays on command and poses for the pictures without fuss. Left free in the yard, Smokey prefers to stay close to me for a thorough petting session. She has very endearing eyes who so much look for mine. She is so lost and wants to belong. Smokey does have some kind of dermatitis affecting her tail and lower back. She will need some type of skin care when she leaves her premises to start hopefully soon her new life with her new owner or family. Smokey is at the Manhattan Care Center. She is a lovely care, so ready to love again.
