A volunteer writes: A fellow volunteer insists that Ace reminds her of Ryan Reynolds. Well that?s a bit far fetched, I told her. But wait! When it comes right down to it, there are some shocking similarities! First, take Ace?s good looks. From his adorable, subtle underbite, to his gorgeous foxtail and his charming little belly in the middle, Ace may not win "Sexiest Man Alive" but he sure does steal the hearts of staff and volunteers alike. And Ace?s sense of humor might rival Ryan?s too. When he gets excited, he does a little hop-skip and even prances when he sees other dogs. Ace loves to talk. He?s not barky, but he?s very vocal in a, ?I?m gonna tell you a doggy story? type of way. At one point in our walk, I tethered Ace to take a picture of another dog and Ace made some noises to get my attention (all the while laying on the sidewalk, one leg tucked under his body), and when I finally returned to him, he sort of whinnied like a horse--Ace seems to always have to have the final word! But don?t fret, although Ace is quite spirited, he seems to have some excellent manners too. He walks well on the leash, is likely housetrained and even knows some commands. So while Ace might not find himself on the cover of People or GQ, he?d fit perfectly in your family photo on your fireplace mantel. So come to the Brooklyn Care Center today make Ace?s acquaintance!

For more information on a particular dog, email adoption @ nycacc.org (remove the spaces) but ONLY email if you are serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. Also, have the ID# listed at the top of this post handy when inquiring!! This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet. If you are coming from outside of the immediately area, it is strongly suggest that you first complete an application and email it to adoption @ nycacc.org -This will allow ACC to answer any questions and resolve any potential obstacles before you make the trip.
