Handsome red nose amstaff Puma in danger@Brooklyn kill shelter in Brooklyn, New York
A volunteer writes: When I first saw Puma he was one of those dogs I had to meet?an older guy who went from family life to a cage and was still in good spirits?wiggling around, wagging his tail, making soft eye contact, and uttering charming demand barks. I didn?t know him when he was younger, but clearly I was looking at a dog that just keeps getting better with age! Outside, he exceeded my expectations. Puma is meaty, but easy to handle. He seems very housebroken and is treat-motivated (he takes them like a gentleman, too). When I ask him to ?sit? he does so and then, unprompted, extends his paw. I crouch down to shake his right, then left, then right again, and when I stand up he rolls on his back! On subsequent walks he has demonstrated that you?re never too old to roll around in the dirt like a bird taking a dust bath and has even rolled over on his bed as soon as I approach his cage. He is very affectionate, well-mannered, and just has a wonderful way about him. Needless to say, the dog I had to meet quickly became a dog I have to take out whenever I am at Brooklyn ACC?.please come see for yourself how special he is!

This dog is in danger of being on the euthanasia list and could be scheduled to be killed at any time! From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet.
