Loving malamute Hunter in danger@Brklyn kill shelter-good w/dogs/kids in Brooklyn, New York

The dog was taken to Vet 3 weeks ago with interdigital dermatitis and was given anibiotics and was cleared up. 9 days a go was taken to Lion King Groomer to be bathed and cut toe nails and when picked up was limping. On examination after grooming, back right foot was bothering him because of possibly cutting the nails too close to the root. This is per the owner.
According to his previous humans, Hunter is housetrained. He has lived with another dog whom he got along well with. He also has lived with children. He growls at cats. He knows several commands. The last thing written in his surrender notes was that he is a very loving dog.
