Pretty short-haired calico Amy (2 years old) was living with her numerous adoptive siblings when Hurricane Sandy struck and left her Far Rockaway owner with an uninhabitable, partially flooded home. She and her siblings stayed in the cold, dark damp house for two weeks while their overwhelmed owner organised their safe delivery to Hope Vet. She was in dire need of medical attention by the time she reached us, but the staff at Hope turned that around and Amy is now a robust and thriving girl. She quiet and shy, and loves to squish herself in cardboard boxes! She is one of the most gentle cats we have taken care of and would need someone who will be patient and let her come out of her shell. She loves other cats and will need to go to a home with her sister Angie; together they have had quite the adventure and are very bonded. Could you make her dream come true?
